A mother and her beloved son. In my opinion, there is no greater bond. I love my Adrian dearly but as he gets older, I fear that the times were he won't want to talk to me are getting closer. Right now, we have an awesome bond. I would love to keep that open communication with my son for as long as possible and that's why I bought him his first phone.
I know you are probably like "Huh?" right now. I tried to hold out as long as possible but I believe 10 is a good age. We went together to purchase the phone, so he could get one that he liked, and it was some fun one-on-one time. He picked out the Samsung Galaxy J3. I have a Samsung so we spent a while talking about all the features and apps. Best part was that it was affordable at under $100. I signed up Adrian's phone with Walmart Family Mobile's new $49.88 a month plan. This plan is incredible. Not only does it include unlimited talk, text and data with up to 15GB of 4G LTE,then 2G*, it's also powered by TMobile. This provides excellent coverage nationwide with no contract, no late fees and no activation fees.
On the car ride home, we talked all about the different apps and games that he would download onto the phone and he even started texting me heart eyes emojis!!! By the way, I have been receiving texts daily while he is at camp or before he goes to bed. We have laid out ground rules for his safety and so he doesn't get too obsessed. I do love that I am able to communicate with him anytime, especially while he is away at camp. So far, the phone has been a blessing and I know that it will also serve as leverage when he's misbehaving. No 10 year old wants their phone taken away!!
Setting up Adrian's phone through Walmart Family Mobile has also been a great way to save money. Other carriers charge a small fortune for all the features provided through the $49.88 PLUS plan! Oh and I almost forgot, every month when we renew service, we receive a $7.00 VUDU credit which helps us continue bonding with movie night!!!
