There are a number of Whale species that are now under a real threat of extinction. Various factors have created this critical situation.
One cause of the decline in many Species of whale is Whaling,which was once common place all over the world. Although many countries have taken measures to prevent this. Unfortunately many countries still allow whaling. Another way around the regulations is that there are clauses in the laws that allow X many Whales and other cetaceans to be caught,captured or Killed for use in Scientific experiments.
