Emperor Yes – Paramesse to Tanis

Posted on the 23 July 2014 by Spectralnights

A band that never fail to make you smile, Emperor Yes have unveiled the lead single, ‘Paramesse to Tanis’, from their forthcoming debut album ‘An Island Called Earth’, which will be released via the mighty Alcopop! Records in September.

After tackling subjects ranging from wasps and fish to the cosmos and the forthcoming apocalypse, this song finds the trio heading back in history to the creation of the pyramids. Sounding like the Flaming Lips jacked up on e-numbers and then proceeding to give a history lesson (are you there, Miley?), the electronic keyboard and synth sounds are simply joyous while Ash Gardner’s fragile vocals bring an unexpected tenderness to proceedings in a similar style to the Polyphonic Spree at their peak.
