The easy frontrunner is Julia Roberts for playing a polio stricken doctor in the AIDS drama The Normal Heart. Also looking to be a lock is Kathy Bates for American Horror Story: Coven. She may not be the only American Horror Story nominee, as Angela Bassett could also get nominated, as could Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Lily Rabe.
Allison Tolman is a safe bet for Fargo, as is Ellen Burstyn for Flowers In the Attic.
The rest are really longshots. Jacqueline Bisset for Dancing On The Edge, Janet McTeer for The White Queen, Audra McDonald for The Sound Of Music, Kate Hudson for Clear History, Holly Hunter for Bonnie and Clyde, Kathy Baker for Return To Zero, and Amanda Abbington for Sherlock.
I’d bet on Julia Roberts, Tolman, Burstyn, Bates, and Bassett for sure. It’d be cool if Emma was nominated against her aunt Julia, but I’m not sure she can beat out Conroy or Sidibe for a 6th spot.
