Billy Bob Thornton is a must for Fargo, as a movie star dabbling in TV. He likely won’t win though, because another movie star… Mark Ruffalo turned in an equally impressive performance in The Normal Heart. Benedict Cumberbatch is also a solid bet for a nomination for Sherlock.
Fargo’s co-star Martin Freeman could hear his name called for Fargo. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a strong candidate for Dancing On The Edge. Idris Elba is always a favorite for Luther. Larry David is a possibility for Clear History, as is Rob Lowe for Killing Kennedy.
On the lesser seen side, Christopher Plummer is in the race for Muhammad Ali’s Greatest Fight, Paul Adelstein could sneak in for Return To Zero, and Nick Nolte for The Trials Of Cate McCall. In the longshot category: Richard Madden for Klondike, Jeremy Irons for The Hollow Crown, Emile Hirsch for Bonnie and Clyde, Martin Henderson for The Red Road, Matthew Goode for Dancing On The Edge, and Dominic Cooper for Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond.
I think Emmy’s going to go with Thornton, Ruffalo, Cumberbatch, Ejiofor, Freeman, and Elba.
