What a whirlwind it's been recently! I seriously don't ever seem to stop, however I had a rare weekend to chill, go for Autumn walks and relax with my husband. I am a huge fan of everything about Autumn but particularly the color palettes that have now officially hit the rails. Those rich tones that make everything feel warm and the combinations you can mix and match.
With this casual look I've gone for a simple light gray 3/4 quarter sleeve jersey dress, and instead of taking advantage of it's simplicities by going nuts with details and crazy patterns - I have done the opposite. As the saying goes, less is more so I have just added some of my favorite color shades to spice it up. I've added Bourjois Rough Edition T14 Velvet Lipstick to give a splash of warmth - after this picture taking session I popped to Primark and got some deep berry nails too. I am loving autumnal make up too so introducing all kinds of new colours to my make up collection.
The main piece of focus is the Vero Moda light gray swing dress* from House of Fraser, which I've added a simple long pendant. I did considered a short necklace but because this is such a plain dress a long necklace just works better. I debated on digging out one of my winter coats but to be honest I'm not quite ready to do that, and as the weather was beautiful my classic Miss Selfridge leather jacket took a visit teamed with my aviators.
The thick tights are out with these specific tights for boots (extra warm socks on the foot) from Primark, and I've teamed them with a classic leather Next Chelsea boots. As for accessories I have gone for a Dorothy Perkins Felt Fedora hat* from House of Fraser, normally I'd of picked up my black one and even though I was concerned about a gray overload because of the different shade of gray it seems to work. The bag is my berry suede and leather combo from Next which I picked up last year, but still works very well for Autumn this year too.
I'm off to Birmingham later on today for an event tomorrow, but I've been feeling under the weather after getting my flu jab so I'm just planning on taking it easy tonight. Then I'm hoping to get to the World Travel Market at some point this week, then my little four legged buddy Olly is coming to stay with me. Yay!
