The bride shared with us:“We met in an elevator in Las Vegas! I was in Vegas with some girlfriends and my husband was in Vegas with his friend from Greece. We randomly started talking after ending up in the same elevator together and realized we lived only 5 minutes away from each other back in Chicago. We spent the afternoon hanging out at the pool before going our separate ways, but not before exchanging phone numbers! We went on our first date when we had both returned to Chicago and the rest is history. Not everything that happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…”

“We originally thought we wanted to have our wedding in Santorini, but after spending more time there while looking at venues, we decided that Mykonos was more of our style. While we still love to visit Santorini, we felt that the Mykonos provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding as well as for our group of family and friends”.

“After traveling around the world together, I had been wondering if he would propose during one of our vacations. When it came time, Thomas did the exact opposite and took a more personal and unexpected approach by proposing at home in our bedroom. The following day, we flew to my hometown to celebrate our engagement with family”.

“I am still in love with my wedding gown! It was made by my aunt who used to design and make wedding dresses and was kind enough to pick it back up for me. She also made my garter. The dress itself has a cut-out back with intricate beading and jewels and a v-neck neckline. My mother sewed my veil with a beaded boarder to compliment my gown. I have a family of talented women!”, the brides shared with us.

“The first thing I wanted to maintain in our wedding was the beauty of Mykonos. I aimed to keep the decor simple so as to highlight the scenery and views. That being said, I also tried to avoid having a beach-y theme, and instead had a fairly formal, yet intimate wedding, incorporating Mediterranean accents”.

“We had a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony outside of a small church on a cliffside overlooking the sea at our favorite hotel in Mykonos, Greco Philia. The reception followed at Nammos Beach Club at Psarou Beach”.

“Of course for my bridal bouquet there were peonies, as well as garden roses, hydrangea and olive branches to tie in with the Mediterranean location”.

“Prior to our entrance at the reception, just after everyone had left the ceremony, my new husband and I had a few minutes together. We practiced our first dance one last time, just the two of us, with the most incredible view of the glistening Aegean Sea behind us”.

“The wedding decor included the same flowers used in my bouquet which were found in garland on the church entrance, around the candles, as centerpieces on the tables, the men’s boutonnieres and the flower girl’s flower crown. We also used many candles which lined the walkways and around the reception area”.
