Today we’re sharing with you the beautiful wedding of a sweet couple in a small historical village in Zakynthos, where they first met. For their special day, they wanted to organize an elegant modern celebration of love with gray and white hues, some gold details and many fresh white flowers. The bride shared with us: “Niko and I met during my summer travels to Zakynthos in 2015. I had booked 3 nights in his boutique hotel and extended my stay for another 2 nights. After returning back to Canada from my vacation, I booked another flight back to Zakynthos. I couldn’t wait to see him again! The rest is history!”

“Niko waited to propose on the day my mother arrived from Canada in March. He secretly bought “the ring” I had fallen in love with months earlier. The jeweller convincingly told me that he had sold it to another client after I sadly noticed it was missing from the display window. Niko opened a bottle of champagne and gave me a wooden box with a smile and said, “Now you can have this. It’s yours. Open it!” I opened the box and saw “the ring” inside. I began to cry and so did everyone else. It was the perfect moment!”

“My wedding dress was designed by Costantino. After trying on several dresses, I fell in love with this one. When I asked the atelier the name of the dress, she informed me that it wasn’t on the market yet, so it was unnamed. She loved my name and said, “since this is your dress, it would be an honor for us to name it after you.”

“The ceremony took place in a church in Bochali, a small historical village just under the old Venetian castle of Zakynthos, overlooking the town and main port of the island. We chose this particular church because it was in the same location as our first date where I started falling in love with Niko and Zakynthos.”

“I picked white peonies and olive branches for my bouquet. I had the florist attach a small frame with my late father’s picture, so he was still with me as I walked down the aisle.”

“We picked Niko’s hotel as the location for our reception because it’s what originally brought us together from opposite sides of the world 3 years ago. It also has historical significance because the land once belonged to Niko’s grandfather and some of the original olive trees still surround the property. The olive branch later became the theme of our wedding.”

“The concept and style of our wedding was “simple elegance” with the theme of the olive branch intertwined throughout. Our colours were gray and white which naturally complimented the existing style of the hotel. Our guests sat next to the infinity pool overlooking the Ionian Sea.”

“The wedding decoration featured long rectangular tables, custom linens, olive garland with white flowers and candles. White orchids were the theme of the church’s exterior used with contemporary multi-sized metal framed boxes. Niko and I didn’t want to add too much color because we wanted the greenery of the olive trees to be the focus of our wedding. Natural simplicity is very chic and stylish for us!”
