Gaucho’s Electro Brunch: £45pp (11am-3pm every Saturday).

Before I whip my body into shape for summer (the holiday countdown is officially on), I thought I’d have one last hurrah. Easter weekends were made for leisurely brunches and we decided to kick it all off with a fabulously indulgent affair at Gaucho in Leeds. If you haven’t heard about Gaucho’s Electro brunch, it’s a luxuriously long experience where you can order from the endless array of delicious brunch options and once you’ve devoured your dish you can order again and again until you’re fit to burst! Gaucho, you had me at unlimited avo on toast.

The Electro brunch at Gaucho is like no other brunch experience I’ve ever had. For one, the atmosphere is so unique. The restaurant is underground so there is no natural light and when you add in a resident DJ, it could easily be 9pm at night in Ibiza. This electro vibe makes it all the more acceptable to say yes to a brunch cocktail or two. I opted for the sparkling wine followed by the breakfast cocktail that was a mix of gin and orange juice. Of course you can always opt for a classic orange juice or a smoothie that is just as pretty as a cocktail.

The menu is extensive with every brunch item you could ever wish for and you are encouraged to order your favourites time and time again. (My other half ordered the steak and eggs twice as it was so good). I don’t eat a lot of meat so I was worried that the menu would be very meat orientated but it caters to vegetarians exceedingly well.

There’s the fluffiest blueberry pancakes, yogurt and granola, all kinds of eggs served on cloud-like muffins and the most incredible avocado on toast. Our first order of the day was the steak and eggs for him and the eggs royale for me with a portion of smashed avocado on the side.

The portion sizes vary but tend to be quite small to allow you pick and choose as you wish. The restaurant was full to the brim with brunch lovers and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday. The service really sets Gaucho apart and it was so nice to chat to the staff about everything from their super unique brunch experience to their many other restaurants. The yogurt and granola was delightful as was the bacon sandwich. I was invited to try out a complimentary Electro brunch by the lovely Gaucho team but I would happily part with £45 to do it all over again. Bottomless brunch should be a weekly occurrence. We are already getting a date in the diary with a group of our closest friends.
