Bethesda unveiled their most ambitious project so far, not so long ago, the Elder Scrolls Massively Multiplayer Online game. There were mixed reactions but everyone is EXPECTANT of this unprecedented Bethesda installment. And sure, we all were waiting for more info about the game. Luckily for us, a 9 minute video that includes gameplay footage that gives more detailed info on PvP and PvE mechanics of the game was released recently.
Developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online will allow players to quest across the entire continent of Tamriel. The game would take place a full millennium before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and it uses all those lore piece you encountered while playing ES games.
“Our game is based on one simple philosophy,” Matt Firor said in an interview with Kotaku, “Everywhere you go, you find something to do. You can just walk across the world and find things to do.”
It’s meant to be playable solo, if you’d like, but is designed for you to play with friends. The map is divided into three major areas, each alligned with a player faction and surrounding the imperial city of Cyrodil. Players can be part of the Ebonheart Pact in the northeast (Dark Elves, Nords and Argonians), the Dagerfall Covenant (a mercantile empire of Orcs and Redguards and Bretons), to the southwest lies the Aldmeri Dominion (high elves, the wood elves and the Khajiit).
We will see how the game turns out in 2013, if it’s just another WoW clone or a true ES game in which we all can disappear.
