On the 215th day of 2019, the United States saw its 249th mass shooting of the year (this time at a mall in El Paso, Texas). That's an average of 1.16 mass shootings per day.
Politicians, especially Republicans, offer nothing but useless "thoughts and prayers". That's political-speak for doing NOTHING to stem the tide of this epidemic.
The least that could be done is to outlaw all gun sales without a background check, ban the sale and possession of assault-style weapons, and ban sale and possession of large-capacity ammunition clips. The citizens support these constitutional restrictions. Demand politicians act, and vote those who refuse to act out of office.
