Edinburgh with Premier Inn*

Hello Freckles Edinburgh Premier Inn Leith WaterfrontLast weekend I headed to Edinburgh (for the second time this month) for a Fringe inspired trip.
We arrived just before midday on Friday, allowing us plenty of shopping time and had a good wander around, finding Armchair Books (which is possibly the best bookshop if you don't mind buying something that's been well used) I'm at the stage now where I feel like I know my way around Edinburgh as well as I know my way around Newcastle. That can only be a good thing though.

We stayed in Premier Inn, in Leith which is about 25 minutes outside the city center by bus. Trying to get anywhere central during the Fringe is 1- expensive and 2- probably very unlikely as people book up well in advance. We didn't really take much time to wander around Leith, but the harbor did look nice during the sunset.

On Saturday morning we headed to breakfast and obviously I filled up my plate. I did try the new Purple Sauce, but I think I'll still stick with ketchup. Do give it a go if you're staying at Premier Inn though and let me know your thoughts - it's an interesting mix of ingredients.

After we'd refuelled it was on to an improv workshop. The part of the trip I wasn't sure I was looking forward to. I'm not funny, or quick witted or remotely clever to attempt comedy but within 5 minutes we were all reassured that wasn't expected of us. Jen and Ginny guided us through various activities and y'know, I did laugh quite a few times during the session.

Improv successful, we took yet more photos in public, spotted some lovely houses/flats and had a little more time for shopping before heading back on the train.

Edinburgh is currently bustling with people and the Fringe so if you do get a chance to go at some point, it'll be well worth it. I've had a look at the listings and there's a couple of things I'm hoping to catch whilst I'm around for the next few days.

Have you been to Edinburgh, what's your favorite part of the city?
