Ede Poly Graduates Decry Delay in Issuance of Certificates

Posted on the 04 December 2020 by Naijapary

Some graduates of Federal polytechnic Ede have lamented over non-issuance of their certificates after several years of graduation.

The graduate have continue to express their dissatisfaction over the delay experience in the release of their certificates by the school management despite payment of necessary fees as stipulated in the process of request for certificate.

Some of them who have graduated since 2015 said they now toil the labour markets without academic certificates.

Some of the graduates who expressed their grievances while narrating their ordeal told FPE PRESS how bittered the school left them for several years.

"I believe when you are admitted to study a particular course in the school and meritoriously passed series of tests and examinations, you are entitled to academic certificate but the case of Fedpoly Ede, Osun state is not like this. All the prescribed fees were paid, a lot of complaint has been passed to the management rather to hear our cries, they turned our certificate to corruption ground and this has affected most of us especially class 2016", an alumnus lamented.

Another victim of the pitiful circumstance said; "I think the story is just the same with all us, 2016 set. I personally have been to school serverally in quest for my certificate I worked for and all they kept saying is someone is yet to sign. My employer even came to school for confirmation if I actually graduated from the school as claimed. And all Federal Polytechnic Ede management could offer them was a copy of where my name appear on the convocation booklet".

"They keep saying the certificate is not ready after 4yrs of graduation. And I heard that after 5 years of graduation from a particular school, if u don't get your certificate. They can't be held liable for default or loss. Next year will make it 5yrs. And all expected dues has been paid", he further stressed.

Another alumnus told FPE STUDENTS' PRESS via a chat; "I think from my own point here that the certificate is ready but one person is delaying it - and it is the registrar of the school - to sign them. And we all know how all these civil servants do when it comes to job responsibility they don't take their job serious at all.

Meanwhile, the PRESS correspondent visited the Exams and Record Unit of the institution last week Thursday to conduct an interview in order to shed light on the plight.

A Senior staff member who pleaded anonymity while making clarification told the PRESS that; "Exams and Records are not directly involved in the issuance of certificates. The Registrar office prepares it and sends it to our unit for application of stamp and other petty things".

After having aired their distress on their appalling tribulation brought about by the non-issuance of their hard-earned certificate, they solemnly request for snap intervention of the management in no distant time.
