The charts above reflect the results of a new Axios / Ipsos Poll. They surveyed 1,355 adults nationwide between March 27th and 30th, and the survey had a 2.8 point margin of error.
It's easy for the media and government officials to tell people they should be working from home. But there are a lot of people, especially in the lower - lower middle - middle classes that don't have that option. They work at jobs that require their presence. Far more upper middle and upper class individuals have that option.
The bottom half are also more likely to be laid-off or furloughed because their workplace is closed.
Social and economic class matters in an emergency like this epidemic. Those who earn the least are hurt the worst -- and sadly, get less government help. That needs to change.
