As mentioned in my last post, I’m starting a new series to review books and products helpful for new and experienced vegans. There’s so many out there (a good problem to have!!), that I will be helping you sort through them and find the best.
Next up, 40 Days of Green Smoothies, an eBook published by Becky of Glue and Glitter. She describes the book as “a 6 week plan to help you start a healthy green smoothie habit!” and I’m happy to say that she’s truly put together a book that delivers just that. I was sold in just the first few pages. Becky manages in just a few brief paragraphs to allay any fears or concerns that may have kept you from getting started, addressing the blender needed, limiting trips to the store, limiting the amount of frozen fruit, and how to prep in advance. The rest of the book continues just as simply, one easy recipe per day, incorporating new and different ingredients as the weeks go by.
The book reads like the A,B,Cs of green smoothies, making everything so simple and easy to follow that it’s difficult not to ask, “why didn’t I start doing this sooner?!” She mixes up the greens, making sure you get different nutrients from trying different varieties, as well making sure to incorporate things like flax and chia to add extra protein and good fats.
If you’d like to try and get started yourself with this healthy habit, Becky is generously giving away a copy of this eBook to one lucky reader! Simply leave a comment below and a winner will be picked randomly on Friday, November 8th. Good luck!! :D
