Having recently tried another Eau Thermale Avene product I was looking forward to trying the Soothing Hydrating Serum. It's available from the Escentual website and is on offer at the moment for £12.75 instead of the usual £17.00.
The serum comes in an attractive glass bottle and looks quite expensive. It's a nice addition to my dressing table.
It's a serum which is suitable for sensitive skin and has an instant calming effect. I really like it. There's no sticky residue like some serums and it is light, almost gel like in formulation and quite water based. It is oil free so it is even perfect for those who have oily skin. I've been using it on a morning before applying make up and I find the effects a little like a primer. I don't apply primer when I use this as it gives a nice base to liquid foundation.
I've never really found serums particularly moisturising but this does a pretty good job on my dry skin. The serum has a high concentration of Avene Thermal Spring Water which helps the serum soothe and heal the skin. When I use this, there's no stinging, no redness, nothing nasty at all. Its another Avene product that I like. I intend to try out the rest of the range when cash will allow. I'd particularly like to try a rich moisturiser.
*I was sent the item free of charge to review on my blog*
