As the largest city in the state of Washington, is it safe to assume the Seattle will be a vegan-friendly location? Luckily yes it is, as more and more vegan restaurants are opening up their doors. Vegan visitors to Seattle who are in search for some high quality dietary supplies also have plenty of shopping options, as well as an array of street food vans selling delicious vegan dishes.
Shopping for vegan food in Seattle
Vegan Seattleites can find their favorite vegan products at all major supermarkets and grocery stores throughout the city, including Fred Meyer, Safeway, and QFC. There are also a handful of stores specializing in organic food; Whole Foods is probably the best known, but PCC and Madison Market offer very good options as well.
Cruelty-free food lovers in the Emerald City are fortunate to have Vegan Haven, where they can shop for snacks, baking supplies, vegan sweets and frozen dinners. The best part about Vegan Haven is that they are constantly enriching their line of products! If you are looking for vegan cookbooks, Vegan Haven is the right address.
Vegan street food in Seattle
Switching to a cruelty-free diet does not mean eating tasteless food. Not at all! But you know this already, right? What you probably don’t know are the exact addresses where to find the best vegan versions of your favorite meat dishes. We’ll tell you right away: for some delicious gourmet sandwiches, look for ‘No Bones About It’ food truck. The guys at ‘Plum Burgers’ make some amazing burgers and wraps, while at ‘Cycle Dogs Vegan’, you will find the best vegan hot dogs in Seattle. Craving for some veggie tacos? You must try Luchador Taco Co. Tacos! The Mexican aroma is guaranteed and so is the quality. Check out their social media profiles to know what they are up to this week.
A staple of Seattle’s vegan community, The Cookie Counter is actually an ice cream sandwiches truck that operates during the summer (June – August) in different locations throughout the city. If you want to know where they are, just check their calendar. The good news is that they will soon open a brick-and-mortar outlet in the Phinney Ridge neighbourhood.
Vegan restaurants in Seattle
Grabbing a vegan meal out is really not an issue in Seattle as the city is home to many meat-free establishments, and if you’re a fan of Asian cuisine you’re in luck as it seems to be the best represented here.
For a lunch buffet offering a wide range of Thai dishes, visit Araya’s Vegetarian Place. At Bamboo Garden you can have one of the best noodles soup in Seattle along with a wide range of faux meats Chinese dishes. Café Happy and Blossom Asian Bistro are other good options for a cruelty free Asian style meal, while those in love with the spicy Indian cuisine, should try Bombay House or Pabla.
