Easter 2015

By Secondchancesgirl
Happy Monday! We had a jam-packed weekend that would be WAY TOO MUCH to include as one post so I decided to recap a little at a time. We had a fabulous Easter. It was the first time I didn't host a party at my house and honestly, it was the best decision. I really didn't need the added stress of planning an Easter party this year. Thank goodness my amazing friend Alina hosted an Easter pool party and we had the greatest time. Easter Miami style!

Before the party, the Easter bunny stopped by our house. He decided to forgo baskets at my house this year and brought the kids gifts in super cute gift bags.

Each kid received a swimsuit, beach towel, float, water squirter, dive rings/sticks, the most adorable sock monkeys dressed up as bunnies and a box of Peeps!

I was in charge of bringing drinks and a dessert to the party so I made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I found edible grass at Target and added it to the top with some Peeps that Amberly donated.

It was DEEEE-licious!

We arrived to the party around 12:30 and it was in full swing. Alina is my closest mom friend and her daughter, Mia, is in second grade with Adrian.

We love pool parties. My favorite part is that the kids are old enough to swim/play on their own. I do keep watch but I don't need to be hovering over them. They kinda do their own thing!

Kids love to jump, somersault, cannonball, anything to make a big splash. I love this series of pics of Adrian and Mia. I know these will one day be added to their wedding video!

Alina served grilled everything: ribs, asparagus, fries, corn on the cob, chorizo. A couple of hours into the party, we did the egg hunt. The kids wanted to throw the eggs in the pool and we would have but we were worried that the water would seep in and damage the candy. I will figure out a way to do a pool egg hunt for next year!

We had such an amazing time and got home around 7pm. I am so grateful to Alina and her family for inviting us over. Pool parties for Easter might just be our new tradition but I will remember to at least get a full family shot! I can dress the kids up in fancy clothes any other time of the year!!
How was your Easter?
