A few weeks ago, I learned of the unexpected passing of my favorite cousin Bradley. With this news, my brother and I planned a road trip to Westport, Connecticut this past weekend.
We hit the road on Saturday to make the long 11 hour plus drive, taking a couple detours throughout the trip. On the way there, we stopped in Pittsburgh. We rode Duquesne Incline to get a view of the skyline. We also checked out Station Square and drove through downtown before heading on our way.
Sunday we decided to go to Boston, since we new the family would be busy taking care of the arrangements and we have both been to NYC. In Boston we wandered through The Common and the streets of the city. We made our way to the Prudential Center to visit the Skydeck, which offered a great 360 view of Boston. Afterwards we headed to the New England Aquarium. They have various unique exhibits including penguins, seals, whale watching, and an enormous three story tank of aquatic animals (including 4 sea turtles)!
Wednesday we headed home and stopped on the way to Philly and my personal favorite of the three. We found LOVE Park and began venturing to find the Liberty Bell and cheese steaks. Due to time constraints, we left with some unfinished business.
Unfortunately, the time spent in all of these places was short lived for me. I hope to travel back to Philly and Boston in the future to conquer the rest of their unique attractions. Expect photos to come at a much later date.
This post is a tribute to Bradley Helt. May 4th, 1995 - April 9th, 2012.
May you find happiness and peace Bradley. You are loved and missed.
