Earth Days

Earth DaysWith the heightened consumerism and population boom following World War II led to the first time in our history when serious concerns were raised over the state of the environment. With the publication of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring in 1962, a general awareness was beginning to be raised and the environmental movement was founded. Through the foundation of Earth Day, to Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter's conservationist efforts of the 1970s, to the publication of such cornerstones as The Limits to Growth and Paul R. Ehrlich's The Population Bomb, key events are examined by nine key founders of the movement, who also lend their expertise as to what has not been done and where we need to go. "Earth Days" is a thoughtful and well made documentary that does a wonderful job of documenting past events and presenting its ecocentric viewpoint. I don't consider my an environmentalist, but I appreciated both the approach and the argument of this documentary.
