If yesterday wasn’t big enough, today saw even more trailers and announcements with the Nintendo online event and more details from the E3 show floor.
This post is Nintendo-cutesy heavy, but there’s a couple non-sequitur entries in here too. Surprise!
Sadly there were few release dates mentioned in the presentation, but I’ll include them where I can
-
Alien Isolation
After the truly abhorrent Aliens: Colonial Marines (the first game in close to a decade I’ve returned for a refund without completing) I was skeptical but optimistic about Alien Isolation. The preview shown at E3 has gone a long way towards abating my fears. Looks gorgeously atmospheric.
Available on: Next Gen Exclusive
-
The Legend of Zelda
A cross between the visuals of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker with the open world setting.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
This new game from Gearbox and 2K Australia takes you to the moon.
Available on: PS3, 360 and PC (I think this was the conventions first last-gen game!)
-
Yoshi’s Wooly World
This is possibly the cutest game in existence, but don’t be fooled. There’s a sinister side with some undoubtedly devious puzzles. I couldn’t be more into it.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Nintendo Amiibo
Nintendo’s answer to Skylanders, these little guys will work across platforms and properties using the WiiU NFC feature. If nothing else the figures look gorgeous, and are of a much higher quality than say the Disney Infinity figures, which can take a little searching to get one with a good paint job.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Captain Toad is getting his own game and I need it.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive.
-
Devil’s Third
The next game from Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki is a hyper-violent actionfest.
Available on: A surprising WiiU Exclusive
-
Titanfall: Free The Frontier
A live action Titanfall series currently in the works. VFX heavy. Looks nice.
Available on: Unclear. While Titanfall is an Xbox One Exclusive, the developers of the game have stated that due to the consoles less than advertised sales, future games in the franchise would not be. So who knows.
-
Mario Maker
Didn’t see this one coming. Create your own side-scrolling levels for Mario in either the classic or new style and share em among your friends.
Available on: A WiiU eStore Exclusive
-
Star Fox
This wasn’t announced so much as hinted at, but leaks suggest a 2015 release.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Doom 4
Just a quick tease here folks, as the full game will be revealed at QuakeCon later this year. Still. What a tease.
Available on: Unclear. Likely next gen consoles and PC
-
Xenoblade Chronicles X
If you like JRPGs, here ya go.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Ori and the Blind Forest
I missed this one yesterday, a friend pointed it out to me after the Day One post had gone live and I’m glad he did because that was an amazing trailer.
Available on: Xbox One Exclusive
-
Super Smash Bros: 3DS and WiiU
Info on how the Miis will work in Super Smash Bros WiiU

Play as… security cameras… in this odd but intriguing game from Shigeru Miyamoto.

Most have seen this trailer already; it was released a few weeks ago, but confirmed for the WiiU today.
Available on: PS3, PS4, 360, Xbox One, WiiU, PC
-
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
This WiiU sequel to Canvas Curse appears to be played only through the gamepad. Interesting.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Hyrule Warriors
The second Zelda universe game on show today. This is The Legend of Zelda meets Dynasty Warriors.
Available on: WiiU Exclusive
-
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Remakes of two of the most popular Pokémon games ever.
