Duke of York Square, London – Public Realm

By Davis Landscape Architecture @DavisLandArch

The Duke of York Square is a contemporary space located off the Kings Road London, master planned by Paul Davis and Partners, with landscape design by Elizabeth Banks Associates. The square abuts the Kings Road along one of its edges with newly constructed and refurbished retail development along two of its others. A glass box cafe is located at the center of this space. The majority of existing trees on site were retained as part of the final scheme.

There are a number of fountains  this square which only become apparent when switched. These are simple water jets ejecting water through paving slabs and this design ensures the maximum flexibility of this space is maintained as they can be turned off when the space is required.
