Ducks Ltd. have shared ‘Train Full of Gasoline’ – the third single to be taken from upcoming album ‘Harm’s Way’ (out on 9 February via Carpark Records).
Featuring backing vocals by Ratboys Julia Steiner and Moontype’s Margaret McCarthy, the subject of the song was inspired by a train full of crude oil exploding in a town after a series of small errors: ‘The song is about self destructive patterns. How if you try to ignore or minimize issues in your life they can manifest in places you don’t expect.’
That this warning is delivered against a jaunty and jangly, harmonious Feelies/Teenage Fanclub-style melodies and instantly relatable self-deprecation – ‘Here’s me thinking that this might have been an all-time low but you’re right to point out that I’ve always been a dumb ass’ – makes it all the more affecting.
