The Wet n’ Wild Megalast Lip Color bandwagon has started
since forever. I really want to hit myself for waiting until today to join the
rave, because h*ll, they are such a gem! Some of their shades are even hailed
as a MAC lipstick dupe. So here I am, yet another person to say that they are
absolutely right. I have here the shades Cherry Bomb and Mocha-licious. These
two lipsticks also happen to be the perfect dupe for MAC Diva/Sin (Cherry Bomb)
and MAC Verve (Mocha-licious).
One of the strong points of Wet n’ Wild Megalast
Lip Color is its unbelievably cheap price tag. One tube only cost Php299 /
Php140+ on online shops. There may be some issues with its packaging being too
messy (the lipstick gets on the lid every time you open/close it). That’s no
big deal because for a gem like this, I don’t mind cleaning the lid every now
and then.
Cherry Bomb
– is a dark blood red color. It is a perfect vampy lipstick – dark and
intimidating.
Mocha-licious – I wasn’t quite sure of this before because I thought that it would look too nude for me. It turns out that it is actually a stunning warm mocha color - a very 90’s shade.
I understand why many beauty
enthusiasts love these lipsticks. It has a satin finish and one swipe is enough
to give an intense color. It is so pigmented that people will believe that
you’re wearing the expensive versions. There is no patchiness or skipping as it
will glide on smoothly onto your lips with full on pigmentation. Surprisingly, it is not as drying as I thought
it would be. I still recommend putting lip balm underneath, especially if you
have dry lips like me. The lipstick will glide more smoothly that way too. Wet
n' Wild Mega Last lipsticks stay for up to 5 hours, but only half of that if
you are out for lunch or dinner. It'll leave a nice stain on the lips, though,
so I'll give it that. But I'm not complaining, for its price, I don't think
re-applying will be a problem.
Overall, Wet n' Wild Mega Last lipstick rocks! They have the perfect pigmentation, beautiful colors, and the performance of a luxury brand. I would really love to try the other shades too, and when I did, I'll make sure to give you a heads up and swatches.
