I can’t think of a worse place to do hard drugs than Thailand.
And it’s not because of the 50 years you’ll do in jail if you get caught or worse, the death sentance.
Because anyone who has done a euphoric nugget of MDMA knows the come up, being with your best-ies with awesome music is worth well worth a bullet in the head or 30 years in Thai prison.
Note: when I talk about drugs in this article, I’m mainly referring to cocaine, yabba, speed, E, MDMA and opium. I am not talking about weed.
Note 2: I have never done drugs in Thailand and I advise people not to do drugs either. They are bad, wrong and illegal. Please don’t do drugs.
Thailand isn’t a great place to do hard drugs
To me doing drugs for the sake of doing drug is a wasted experience. I like to combine them with:
1. My best-ies (my best friends)
2. Great music and club atmosphere
That’s it.
Oh wait,
3. and hookers.
Yes, and most definitely hookers.
My best friends are all in England and the music and club vibe in Thailand isn’t suited to drug culture.
First of all Thais don’t dance, rave or even move in a club.
They just stand by a table slowing drinking their whiskey.
Depending on the club you visit some will have popped E tablets but you couldn’t tell without looking at their eyes because they don’t really do much.
If I’m going to do some MDMA or get fucked up on questionable meth, I need to be locked into a trance beat by the DJ with 300 people around me with their hands in the air like a psycho:
Either that or I need to be locked up in a room with 3 hookers with Riders of the Storm playing in the background, cigarette in my mouth fully naked in a room of smoke:
Music in most clubs in Thailand isn’t suited for taking hard drugs, for the most part DJs in Thailand aren’t very good and just play the top 20 hip hop songs.
Okay Beam and Demo can be good but both have a sucky vibe to even consider taking drugs in Bangkok. The crowd is Thong Lor is too stuck up too take drugs.
Taking the hard stuff like meth, yabba, E or MDMA in Thailand isn’t without its mental effects, even more reason to why I’d save it for when I’m in England.
Where to find drugs in Thailand
If anyone approaches you asking if you want to buy drugs….
Never buy drugs in Bangkok or Thailand from anyone who approaches you.
It’s most likely a sting operation and you’ll end up having to pay a huge fine or go to jail.
Even if the 1% chance it’s not, the quality of stuff you’re going to get is going to be terrible.
There are 3 ways I know of you can buy drugs in Thailand from my time here, they are:
Colored people – not sure if racist if true? If you walk along Sukhumvit there are people of color who hang around looking gangster AF during the evenings. I don’t want to say exactly where because I don’t wanna GET GOT, but you know.
They cannot be missed.
If you approach them you can go and buy what you need. I have never bought drugs in Thailand, but I know of people who have used their service before and had no issues.
They did say the quality they received was not the best however.
A trusted friend – by far the best and safest way to obtain high quality drugs in Thailand is through referral.
If you have a friend who gets drugs from time to time, it means they are in contact with a dealer and this will be your safest way by far to obtain whatever you want at good prices.
Hookers – you’ll be surprised how easy hookers can get you drugs in Thailand. Get to know one well and ask her what she can get, they usually do meth and yabba which I’ve been told isn’t that good. Sure they could get you weed and MDMA too though.

How much do drugs cost in Thailand?
Again I have never done drugs in Thailand, and I don’t recommend anyone do it either because breaking the law is wrong and bad.
But if you’re keen here are the prices, they are pretty much spot on :
- Ounce of Thai weed – 1,000b
- 1g of USA weed – 1,000b
- MDMA tablet – 1,000-1,500b
- Yabba/meth tablet – 200b
- Cocaine – 1,000b per 1g (this one I could be wrong about)
You might be wondering how I know the prices for drugs in Thailand if I don’t take them. Research.
Research.
The quality of drugs can vary greatly, if the drug was made in Asia then there’s a good chance it’s been cut to sheeeet.
If it’s been imported from Europe then you’ll certainly get a cleaner high but you’ll also be A LOT more than the prices I’ve listed above.
How hard is it to get drugs in Thailand?
If you go to the islands, head to a reggae type bar on a quiet part of the island and it won’t be that hard to buy weed over the bar counter or mushrooms. It’s a little harder in cities like Bangkok because they are so big and you don’t know where to look.
But yeah, I wouldn’t do drugs in Thailand nor do I suggest anyone else to either. I get lots of emails about drugs and figured I would write this article.
