Boralesgamuwa police arrested two suspects for robbing nearly Rs. 500,000 from the office of a distilleries company in Katuwawala.
The 62-year-old victim had kept the money withdrawn from his bank account in his possession during a party held in the Parakaduwa area.
At the end of the party he had realized that the money that was in his pocket had gone missing.
Later, he lodged a complaint with the Eheliyagoda police in this regard.
According to the police, the victim is a recipient of government’s fund for elders.
Police have identified the suspect. Special police team is conducting investigations to arrest him.
