Maharagama Police are on the lookout to arrest a son (30), who had fled after stealing gold jewelry worth around Rs.3 million from his mother at knifepoint.
The suspect, a drug addict, had locked his mother and a domestic helper in a room of their house located at Weera Uyana, Depanama, Pannipitiya.
The incident had taken place on Tuesday evening.The mother (61) had lodged a complaint with the Police stating that gold jewelry weighing about 17.5 pounds belonging to her had been stolen.
The father of the suspect is employed in a European country.
