Since I started blogging weekly in the Summer 2011 season, I’ve been watching all the new shows that made their premieres, and kept up with them on a weekly basis. For someone who couldn’t stand watching anime online all the time back in the day, this represented a big change. And for the most part, it’s been pretty fun.
But today, I now will take a stand…and before the season really gets started, I’m going to take a break from watching weekly shows.
…Ok, this is half a lie. The only current lock for me to check out is Ace of Diamond & Yowamushi Pedal, but that’s mostly because they’re sports anime, and since they’re few and far between, I generally feel like checking them out when I can. There are a few shows that I’ll be giving my first impressions on (I’ve chosen 5), so a few of those shows will have to prove they’re worth sticking around week to week, or to wait to marathon when it finishes. Otherwise, I plan on skipping the Fall season until I finally finish my backlog.
My backlog, as it stands now:
My goal is to pretty much clear that up so I can feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I mean staring at all the anime I said I’d watch and not get around to watching them is kind of sad. So I really want to take care of that. I have no idea if I can finish all of them in the next month or so, and since I’ll be at New York Comic Con next week, that’ll probably be the only time I take a break from anime. Otherwise, aside from ongoing stuff (not that many), the two sports shows (unless they suck), and any of the shows I have to give first impressions on, my weekly watching list will be light, and I will like it!…Unless I procrastinate long enough to not even take care of my backlog. But I will take care of it. In fact, by the time this post is up, I bet I’ve already cleared a few anime clogging said backlog ….*lies*
Anyways, my plan is to finish what I can, and maybe catch up to the fall season later, if I’ve cleared everything. I might talk about some of these anime. So your job is simple: just give me a list of what I should finish immediately. As of this post, don’t consider Tasogare Otome and Zetman. Those are the shows I’m watching first. Don’t tell me what to drop either, since I’ve basically considered anything in my on-hold list to at least be watchable enough to finish, or at least prove to me it sucks.
