Drogba’s Embarassing Dive and Penalty Miss for Galatasaray

By Simplyfutb01 @simplyjuan11

Drogba GalatasarayDidier Drogba always had a bit of a reputation at Chelsea for going down under a challenge a little too easily but he’s taken that to the extreme following an embarrassing dive against Genclerbirligi in a Turkish league match last weekend.

Drogba was running out to the edge of the box to pick up a rebound before darting down the inside of a Genclerbirligi player and hitting the deck with the very minimum of contact.

It’s a shame because he’s one of the highest profile stars at Galatasaray and someone the club will want to use to set examples, on the pitch when it comes to scoring football goals and away from the pitch in the respect of how he handles himself.

He’s started his career very well at the club with a goal and two assists in four games helping the side consolidate in first place with a four point lead over the second placed Fenerbahce. He’s also a key player for them in Europe, especially after today’s Champions League quarter-final draw now pits Galatasaray against Real Madrid.

It was one of the most blatant dives that you are going to see this season and something which many will see as a positive as to why he’s not in the Premier League playing for any side any more.

Fortunately, there is justice in the game of football which came about as he missed the resulting spot kick which caused the Genclerbirligi players to sprint in and applaud the penalty spot, which seemed to implode beneath his feet.

We’ve put the video below,

take a look and see what you think about the whole incident.
