The Reform Social and Grill offers brilliant personalised service in sophisticated surroundings. The food is high quality and the menu has been developed with real thought. We were impressed!
Yesterday ‘5things’ dined at the Reform Social and Grill to try out their new Autumn/Winter menu. The restaurant is part of the Mandville Hotel, Marylebone – about a ten minutes walk from Oxford station tube station.
One
Try a cocktail from the extensive menu and sit up at the bar to watch it being made. We had Negroni cocktails which were excellent and made by experts. The bar area of the restaurant has a sophisticated edge and has the feel of an exclusive gentlemen’s club.

Two
Enjoy the intimate feel of the reform bar and grill. The service is extremely personal and being a fairly small venue you feel comfortable refining your cocktail and menu wishes to exactly what you want. They may even allow you behind the bar to have a go at making a cocktail yourself. The barman seemed to be able to turn his hand to every cocktail suggested and could give the background and history too.

Three
Order ambitious dishes such as Hendrick’s gin cured salmon and glazed beef short rib. There is always the catch of day if you fancy a bit of fish instead. The presentation of the food was superb.

Four
We thought the sides for the table were perhaps the most novel we have seen. Think garlic mash, baked dumplings and parsley butter bone marrow.
Five
Take the advice of the wine sommelier. If you want some suitable wine pairings then just ask. The wine selected for us for our dishes went perfectly. The Errazuriz Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc from Chile was sublime with our dessert of Lemon Posset with fresh raspberries.
