Chance the Rapper has just joined the cast of DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls 2, the sequel to the animated family film that grossed $346.8 million worldwide.
Screen ShotAccording to Deadline, Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, will join returning cast members Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick to lend his voice for a new character and will also record a song for the movie’s soundtrack.
The all-new installment expands the series’ music genres to represent everything from pop, country, and hip-hop to hard rock, funk, and EDM.
About the family film:
“Queen Poppy and Branch make a surprising discovery — there are other Troll worlds beyond their own, and their distinct differences create big clashes between these various tribes. When a mysterious threat puts all of the Trolls across the land in danger, Poppy, Branch, and their band of friends must embark on an epic quest to create harmony among the feuding Trolls to unite them against certain doom.”
The family film is set for a spring 2020 release.
