We were able to sit down with this busy singer and ask her about new music. From a new album to shows coming up she also tells us how we can keep track of any new news about her as well.
What is the title of your latest single and what can you tell our readers the message of the song?
My latest single is entitled Calgary. It’s a conversation I wish I was brave enough to have. I often come up with imaginary scenarios where I’m eloquent and well spoken. I could safely say this isn’t usually the case.
What inspired you to write the song?
A relationship that was heading straight to the gutter. I was listening to the band ‘stars’ a lot at the time and I loved how the call and response. I wanted to write a song where maybe the two involved in the song aren’t on the same page. At first, I wanted to make it comedic. It ended up the opposite.
Are you going to have an album come out soon? Can you tell us the theme of the album?
I’m in the works. I’m hoping to have everything finished recording by next year. This upcoming album is going to be a little bit more playful than past works. I’ve been working on being more unapologetic so the songs are going to be a bit sassier. I’m definitely not going to stray too far from the thoughtful pieces too.
Are you able to tell us the title of the album?
I’m in between a couple options. “Spicy Talk” and “internet high school sweetheart” are my top pics for now.
What is your favorite song off the album?
If you asked me a week ago, I’d say ‘Spicy Talk’. This week I think it’s ‘internet high school sweetheart’.
What made you enjoy making music?
I’m terrible at expressing how I feel with words. I bite my tongue a lot. I get nervous easily. I feel like I could be completely expressive with making music. I like the idea of my songs being open to interpretation, while still making my point.
What drives you to make different music?
I have a lot of music I love. I have a punk rock heart. I love the poetry in rap. I grew up playing classical and I played in my high school jazz band on and off. My dad loved The Beatles and Air Supply. My mom loves top 40s and anything she can move too. My influences are all over the place.

It’s honestly one of the few things that makes sense to me.
