As many 18 suspected criminals from Katsina State arrested in Ondo State with over 500 daggers and different weapons have been arraigned and remanded on the Olokuta Correctional Centre in Akure, the state capital.
The South-West safety outfit, Amotekun, had discovered over 500 knives and daggers hid in a sack full of tiger nuts contained in the automobile through which the suspects have been travelling and promptly arrested all of the occupants of the automobile.
Based on Tribune, the trial of the suspects was confirmed on Saturday by the commander of Amotekun within the state, Adetunji Adeleye, noting that the Chief Magistrates' Court docket in Ondo ordered the remand of the suspects for allegedly being in possession of hid harmful weapons with an intent, allegedly, to conspire to perpetrate unlawful act.
He stated the arrested suspects would quickly seem within the court docket once more.
Different suspects travelling in two different autos have been stated to have escaped arrest.
