Drake And The Weeknd Are Fighting Over Bella Hadid
Two weeks ago, Bella Hadid got some attention after a cringeworthy sneaker video she made went viral. Hidden under all the “homeboy can like, get itttt” jokes was the news that she might be dating Drake. Sources denied the rumor to UsWeekly, Bella’s mom Yolanda Hadid kind of denied it on WWHL. Two weeks later, and that rumor has been upgraded. Not only is Bella allegedly dating Drake, but it’s caused things to get very dramatic between him and fellow Toronto boy The Weeknd.
To recap, Bella used to date The Weeknd. Then they broke up, and he moved onto Selena Gomez, something that really put a bee in Bella’s bonnet. Both Drake and The Weeknd are from Toronto (well, The Weeknd is from Scarborough, and I’m one of those petty “only Toronto is Toronto” Toronto people). Drake and The Weeknd run in the same circles, and sources tell Page Six that’s causing problems for their friends.
“They both hang in the same Toronto crew and now they’re having to pick sides. The Weeknd performed and people on Drake’s side were like, ‘I can’t show up to that. Got to have allegiance,’” an insider said. “They aren’t getting along right now. The groups are beefing because [Drake] broke the bro code. They 100 percent hooked up.”
Drake rented out a lounge in NYC or Bella’s 21st birthday. On Monday, Drake threw himself a bar mitzvah-themed 31st birthday party, but neither The Weeknd nor Bella were there.
Cheap remakes are so popular in Hollywood these days, so of course it was inevitable that it would spill over into the world of social media models and celebrities. And it looks like what we’ve got here is a lazy version of the Trojan War called the Toronto War. Playing the part of Alexander of Troy is Drake. Angry Spartan king Menelaus is The Weeknd. And the woman they’re fighting over, a woman with the face that put a thousand ships to sleep, is Bella Hadid. How will this version end? With a battle of stink faces and sarcastic apologies during opening night of The Cheesecake Factory at Yorkdale Mall? Probably.
