I don’t think there is another preacher who has had to deal with as much scandal as Pastor Jamal Bryant.
He has had to deal with divorce (he was married to our favorite RHOP star, Gizelle Bryant), a baby out of wedlock, and his name stayed in the blogs when he was the pastor of the Empowerment Temple in Baltimore.
With all of that, God still said he was the one to take over New Birth in Atlanta. (that’s how grace works).
Jamal Bryant was recently on the Willie Moore Jr. radio show, where he talked about his experience in Baltimore and accountability in this season of his ministry.
Dr. Bryant views Baltimore as his “training wheels.” He says that God knew that he had to “fall in Baltimore,” before he could “skydive in Atlanta.” While in Baltimore he had an extra-marital affair. But, he says “you got to go through some convicting things to know God is real.” New Birth interviewed over 130 pastors, non of whom had the level of scandal attached to their names as Pastor Bryant. But, he says, “in spite of that” God has allowed him to “be a runway model for what redemption looks like.”
