E! News confirmed that the 55-year-old hip-hop legend suffered from the aneurysm on Monday, Jan.4 and remains in intensive care at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
TMZ was the first to report the aneurysm.
The performer of "California Love" is stable, but doctors are unsure of what caused the brain damage and are administering numerous tests, according to TMZ.
A number of famous friends and collaborators of the star have shared their support on social media. "Send your love and prayers to mate Dr. Dre," Ice Cube tweeted.
Son of Ice Cube, actor O'Shea Jackson Jr., seemed to confirm that Dre was on the road to recovery. "I have a note," he tweeted. "It's always Dre's day. Always keep the family in your prayers. You never know yourself.
Snoop dogg shared images on Instagram of himself playing with Dr Dre, adding the caption, "GET GOOD DR DRE WE NEED A CUZ."
And Missy Elliott tweeted, "Prayer for Dr. Dre and his family for healing and strength on his mind and body."
It comes at a difficult time in the star's life. wife Nicole young filed for divorce in July after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair are parents of two adult children, sons Truice and daughter Really.
