DPRK state media reported on September 7 (Monday) that Cabinet Premier Pak Pong Ju (Pak Po’ng-chu) visited flood damaged parts of Raso’n.  He toured several parts of the special administrative city affected by heavy rains where, according to KCNA, he “took measures for all units which started the recovery campaign true to the intention of the Party to stabilize the people’s living as early as possible and preferentially provide materials for the recovery.”

Flood damage in and around Raso’n was discussed during the August 27 meeting of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Military Commission [CMC].  During the CMC meeting Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) issued an order in his capacity as Korean People’s Army [KPA] Supreme Commander to “to undertake the work for recovering from it and complete it before the anniversary of the founding of the party [October 10, 2015] and organized a command for the campaign.”

In addition to touring Raso’n, Pak Pong Ju toured Farm #1116 and the Ryuwon Shoe Factory where he held a meeting with officials and employees.  According to KCNA the meeting “discussed the issues arising in spreading and massively cultivating the ‘Aegukphul,’ a feed crop with high yield and nutritive value, across the country and measures for remodeling the factory as required by the new century.”
