DPRK state media reported on November 27 (Monday) that State Affairs Commission Vice Chairman and DPRK Premier Pak Pong Ju [Pak Pong-chu] visited the Hu’ngnam Fertilizer Complex, the February 8 Vinalon Complex and Hamhu’ng Branch of the State Academy of Sciences. After touring the fertilizer and vinalon complexes, Pak convened a meeting to consult with employees and managers of the complexes in order to “take measure for pushing ahead with the fertilizer production, finishing the construction of the new caustic soda production process as soon as possible and producing vinalon. During his visit to the Hamhu’ng Branch of the State Academy of Sciences where he emphasized the “need for it to dynamically conduct the drive of breaking through the cutting edge in the field of science and technology and play the role as an engine for building an economic power.”
