DPRK Ambassador to Laos Ri Sang Chun presented his letter of credence to Lao President Choummaly Sayasone on 13 February 2014.  Ri was one of six ambassador to Laos who attended the accreditation ceremony at the Presidential Office.  According to KCNA Sayasone said that the “party, government and people of Laos will invariably support the just line and policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the DPRK government on independent and peaceful reunification of the country” and he “noted that the relations between Laos and the DPRK are deep-rooted traditional ones of friendship and cooperation provided by President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng).”  Sayasone also “rejoiced over the fact that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries are growing stronger” and  ”expressed the will to develop them onto a higher stage.”
