DOYLE NEW YORK TO AUCTION STREET ART ON APRIL 8, 2013
Follows the Success of the Fall 2012 Inaugural Street Art Auction
Meet the Artists at a Reception on April 4

At the nation’s inaugural Street Art auction last fall, Doyle New York achieved world auction records for works by Margaret Kilgallen, David Choe, Todd James and others. The upcoming Street Art auction on April 8, 2013 promises to be even larger in scope and size. Featured are works by classic graffiti artists from the 1980s and 90s, as well as by the foremost Street Artists working today.

Highlights include an important portrait by Shepard Fairey of punk icon Darby Crash, a rare acrylic on canvas by the duo Faile, and a triptych by Invader dating from his 2010 invasion of Rome. Also of note is a rare portrait on wood by the late Margaret Kilgallen, as well as the infamous “Showpaper Box” by graffiti legend Cost, which was shown in the 2011 “Art in the Streets” exhibition at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.

Among the other artists represented in the sale are Dondi White, Barry McGee, Seen, Cope2, KAWS, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, Futura 2000, Banksy and ASVP.
