The Douglas DC-7 is an airliner built by Douglas from 1953 to 1958.  It was the last major piston engine-powered transport made by Douglas, introduced only a few years before the jet-powered Douglas DC-8.  Four eighteen-cylinder Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone Turbo-Compound engines each provided 3,400 hp for the DC-7.  This restored Eastern Air Lines aircraft’s airworthiness certificate expired in June 2013, it remains at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on static display.  Nikon D300 w/18-200mm.
