This beautifully maintained DC-3 was one of two on static display during the 2017 Wings Over Solano airshow. Civil DC-3 production ended in 1942 with only 607 aircraft being produced. However, when combined with the military version and overseas production by the Russians and Japanese, over 16,000 were built. Pre-war livery often included a striping on the rudder to represent the colors of the U.S. flag, This aircraft was previously operated by Legend Airways, recreating the atmosphere of 1930’s travel for today’s generation too used to the cattle call airline environment.
