The sun is descending behind this Globemaster II as we toured the extensive collection at the Pima Air & Space Museum during a sunset photo shoot event.  The C-124 was the primary heavy-lift transport for the USAF Military Air Transport Service (MATS) during the 1950s and early 1960s, replaced by the Lockheed C-141 Starlifter.  This C-model sported more powerful engines, nose radar, wingtip combustion heaters and increased fuel capacity.  First flown in 1949, 448 of these aircraft were produced by Douglas Aircraft Company in their Long Beach, CA plant.  Nikon D7100 w/ Tokina 10-17mm.
