This Spad (nickname for the Skyraider) duo participated in flying displays during the 2007 Aviation Nation airshow. Single seat AD-4’s saw action during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and one was even credited with the only aerial combat victory for the type. AD-4’s were the last of the single seat versions and were the most produced model.  The venerable Skyraider first flew in 1946 and operated by the U.S. until November 1972 when all A-1s in U.S. service in Southeast Asia were transferred to the South Vietnamese Air Force (VNAF). The three-seat A-1E aircraft carries VNAF markings.  In 1962, existing Skyraiders in service were redesignated A-1. Nikon D70s w/70-300mm.
