An early model Scooter perched on a pole at the Aviation History & Technology Center, the oldest A-4 I can recall seeing.  First flown in 1954, the A-4 (nicknamed Scooter) is a single seat carrier-capable attack aircraft developed for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps.  This diminutive plane is capable of carrying a bomb load equivalent to that of a World War II Boeing B-17.   Introduced in 1956, the A-model was the first production Skyhawk which was the only model not having air-to-air refueling capability.  Close to 3,000 of all variants were produced over a 25-year production run and some are still in active duty service with Argentina & Brazil.  Fuji X-Pro2 w/18-135mm.
