While researching this warbird for a caption, an inconsistency popped up. Several websites list this A-26 as serial 43-22523 that is now displayed as 43-4156 (having used parts from 44-34156). The odd thing is that wartime records show that A-26 43-22523 was involved in a mid-air collision over Belgium and written off. Whatever the true identity of this Invader is, she appeared in a 1973 film “Badlands” as a VIP transport. This warbird has been on static display at Vance AFB since 1987. Canon G9 photo.
