Dornier Seaplanes exhibited their new all-composite Seastar CD2 at the 2010 Oshkosh Airventure. The Dornier Seastar is a parasol wing flying boat, powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-112 engines, mounted in a single nacelle over the wings in a push-pull configuration. The original Dornier aircraft company was a leading maker of flying boats in the 1920s. There have been multiple attempts to get this aircraft into production since its first flight in 1984.  Recently acquired by a Chinese firm, an updated version of the CD2 is working towards 2020 certification.  Nikon D70s w/18-200mm.
