The Carnegie Airborne Observatory-3 takes off on another mission, providing high-resolution mapping of vegetation and terrain for science, conservation, and resource policy uses. CAO-3 has been mapping forests across California to assess the ecological impacts of the ongoing drought and has begun operations out of San Carlos Airport. The Dornier Do 228 is a twin-turboprop STOL utility aircraft, manufactured by Dornier from 1981 until 1998. Nikon D7100 w/80-400mm, processed with Aperture.
