Doritos's May Have Some Stiff Competition...

By Boberika @boberika

Last week I was contacted to review the new tortilla chips range by Kettle. Being a smoky BBQ and Sea Salt & Balsamic Kettle kind of girl I was intrigued as to how they would hold up against the old faithful Doritos. Now I'm not one to constantly eat junk food, but on occasion I indulge and when this time occurs I want to know I'm eating something that tingles my taste buds. I think Doritos's may have some stiff competition, as Kettle tortilla chips taste great without that heavy after-taste of chemical flavouring. If you're going to give them a go I suggest making this dip for an extra taste sensation:

Mango & Tequila Dip
1 ripe mango, 50g light brown sugar, 20g red onion finely chopped, 15g green chilli chopped, 1 tsp cumin, 5 fresh stem ginger, 20g fresh coriander, 1 tsp cayenne pepper , 1 tsp ground clove, 20g Tequila,  1 tsp turmeric, 10g olive oil, 20g Malt vinegar and Salt & Pepper

  1. Cut up mango (without skin) into small pieces, add sugar and tequlia, mix and leave to the side.
  2. In a bowl add vinegar, olive oil, onion, chilli, ginger and spices and blend together well.
  3. Fold in mango mix from step one
  4. Finish by folding in coarsely chopped coriander, salt & pepper to taste. Cover and leave to stand for the flavours to infuse, place in refrigerator until your ready to use.

Preparation time 10mins. Serves 4-6 people. Enjoy!
