Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the signing of Lightning Born to a world-wide deal, with new album due late 2018!
A true supergroup, featuring some of the best musicians in the Maryland/East Coast Doom Scene, LightningBornbeganwhenDozaHawes,long-timedrummerofmetalactMegaColossus,caughtBrennaLeathperformingwithherband,TheHellNo. “Ireallydughervocals,andwantedtoseewhatshecoulddoinamoretraditional, classicrockandblues-inspiredkindofframework,”saidHawes.Asthetwobrainstormedpotentialguitarists,“IimmediatelythoughtofErikSuggfromDemonEye,”saidHawes.“Hewritesgreatriffs,butalsocraftsexcellentsongs.Ithoughthisdarker,doominfluencewouldbeaperfectfitforBrenna. ”ThetrioclickedonErik’sriffideas.Meanwhile,BrennawasfinishingupaHellNoalbum,producedbyCOC’sMikeDean.SheinvitedDeantojointhegrouponbass,andthechemistrywasapparent.

Lightning Born debutedin2016,rocking theirdebutshowwithConanandSerialHawkintheirhometownofRaleigh,NC.Since then, the band has moved from strength to strength sharingthestagewithTheSword,Earthless,Mountain,TheObsessed,KarmatoBurn,RubytheHatchet,andmanyothers. TheyperformedattheMarylandDoomFestin2017andwereinvitedtoreturnin2018.
Theireponymousdebutalbum,recordedandproducedbyMikeDean,isslatedtoreleaseNov.2018onRippleMusic.
